To steep or not to steep, at your discretion. Our founders have spent years designing the ultimate tea-infuser. With a wide spout the Mennä ONE guarantees the perfect pour or sip. The infuser basket not only works well with bagged tea but can handle loose tea as well. Start and stop your brewing whenever you’d like with a simple twist of the ring. Works for both hot and cold liquids and lets you enjoy your brew for up to 6 hours. Once the top is locked, it’s safe and spill free. If that wasn’t enough the Mennä ONE is easy to disassemble and put directly into your dishwasher after a quick rinse.
Using the Mennä One (watch a video)
1. Twist the Mennä ring to the open position
2. Remove both infuser baskets (note: this will not unscrew unless the Mennä ring is in the open position)
3. Fill the infuser with your favourite tea (loose or bagged)
4. Screw the inner infuser to the cap (make sure the marks align)
5. Screw the outer basket to the cap (make sure the marks align, you will feel a click)
6. Fill the bottle to the MAX line with hot or cold water and screw on the Mennä cap
8. Repeat steps 6-7 for multiple brews of your favorite tea leaves
You can now Steep, Stop & Re-Steep with a turn of the Mennä ring
How to clean your Mennä (watch a video)
Regular Cleaning: For day-to-day cleaning we recommend separating the vessel, cap, outer basket & infuser and then rinsing all pieces under running water. You may hand wash the pieces or run them through your regular dishwasher cycle.
WARNING: To ensure that hot water is not trapped inside the infuser it is is important that the Mennä ring is in the open position when separating the cap from the vessel.
Great idea, not great execution
The stop/start brew feature is great. The biggest issue is that when you use it for hot tea, the water is so low that you burn yourself because you have to tilt it so much, and the cap hits your nose. I think a different cap design and clear bottle would make this perfect.
Works as advertised
First I want to say that customer service-wise, order was very pleasant. I had questions and used their Facebook account to get my questions answered. Additionally, there was a discount showing on the website, but the discount did not show in my cart. I did contact them again on Facebook and they tried to help me remedy the situation. While none of their suggestions were successful and I ordered without the discount, they later honored the discount and refunded it to my account without my contacting them. I received the Menna Two before the expected date. It seems very durable and well made. It functions exactly as shown in the videos. I tend to use very strong teas and it absolutely stopped the steeping so I was able to use the same tea leaves multiple times and no hints of bitterness from being over-steeped (unless I forget to stop it). One time, in fact, I UNDER steeped it. It was really easy to just turn the ring and steep it a few more seconds and then stop the steeping again. I'm still getting used to it, but so far, I really like it and can't wait to try it when I travel. Below are some observations I have. Pros - - The thermos stops the steeping as soon as I turn the ring. - The tea stays hot for hours. - The directions received were clear. - All of the parts seem well made and durable. - It holds as much tea as the thermos I have been using. - I don't have to worry about where to put the tea strainer while I'm drinking and that will be great when I travel. Cons - really only small things I noticed - There were two stickers with a QR code on the white plastic outer basket when it arrived. I am still working on removing the adhesive. - Maybe this is more an issue because I mostly hand-wash the thermos, but the white outer basket has been showing signs of staining (imagine that with tea!). It takes a bit of scrubbing with some baking soda, but because there are many openings, it takes a bit of work to reach all the surfaces. I haven't used sweetener or spices or fruits that might compound the issue as has happened with other thermoses I've had. - Because the basket is left inside the thermos, it does take getting used to the balance of the thermos while drinking. If I'm not careful when the tea is hot, sometimes I get too much tea and have burned my tongue.
